Luna is an Anatolian Shepherd approx 1 year old looking for a new home, preferably a homestead/farm as a working breed she needs a job.
She needs to be an inside dog to build the bond and to learn commands. She is house trained.
She is very sweet and good with large and small dogs and with all people and kids . In fact she LOVES kids. She is still a puppy and VERY playful.
She is not fixed, our vet indicated the x-large breeds should wait until closer to 2 to fix.
She is on flea tick and heartworm preventative.
She is not chicken safe without being watched. With guidance and instruction she does listen.
She likes to please and would respond well to treats and positive training.
We have a small group of chickens that escapes the pasture daily. Usually they are fine, every now and then the urge over takes her to chase….shes a puppy and like all kids needs to be monitored around temptation and trained. I do fully believe she can be trained to be chicken safe with very good training. She’s been exposed to goats, pigs, rabbits, all kinds of farm animals. She’s too young to be around animals alone but she can be trained to care for farm animals.
She will NOT thrive in a home that hits. I believe she may have been hit before she came to us and she is skiddish if she thinks she’s in trouble. She needs to be rewarded for good behavior because she does have a desire to please and she does not like to be in trouble or ignored.
She’ll make a great companion for a home with less dogs where she can get more snuggles, attention, and instruction, and that’s truly what she needs and we’ve known that and I’ve put off because she’s really going to be such a great dog, but she’ll be her best self and less timid and all around amazing with more hands on than I’ve been able to give her.
I’ll be honest we got into rescuing dogs for a while and I over extended myself with 8 dogs.
This sweet girl taught me that lesson real quick 🤪
I will always have a heart for rescues and I will always want alllllll the dogs. 😍😍😍
